Every change to your project needs your explicit approval, and is always additive — a new timeline, a new version. Never an overwrite.

Your footage never leaves your Mac.

Analysis, transcription, search and assembly run on-device, on Apple Silicon. Only text and individual frames ever reach an AI model — through your own API key, or through FirstCull Cloud. Client work under NDA stays exactly where it is.

  • Media is indexed in place — never moved, copied, re-encoded or uploaded.
  • Only text and selected frames go to AI providers; with your own key they go straight to your provider account.
  • Audio is uploaded only for transcription, only when you say so — the app asks before anything is sent, and temporary audio is deleted once the transcript lands.
  • Your API keys stay in the macOS Keychain — never in config files, never in a database, never on our servers.
  • Crash reports are opt-in and scrubbed — no file paths, no transcripts, no media.
  • Uninstall is total — the app plus two Library folders. Nothing is written next to your media.
